Amazon Prime wins for the value and also the content. It has virtually every movie ever released available to stream (most at a one-time cost, but at least they're there); it has decent original series (not better than Netflix); but most importantly it has the entire HBO catalog pre-2017 or so (so all of The Sopranos, Deadwood, The Wire, Six Feet Under, etc.). That last bit absolutely puts it over the top for me.

It wouldn't have even stood a shot at popping up on the list, and I can understand why, but for Star Trek diehards CBS All Access is making serious swings right now. I'm sure plenty of folks aren't even aware, but Trek's cinematic universe is thriving again for the first time since the 1990s, and by all visible metrics this is bringing in the kind of cash that CBS was looking for.

Amazon Prime Video is still my choice regardless; it's just that good. With The Expanse's renewal, the upcoming Lord of the Rings and The Wheel of Time productions, and a ton of great catalog fare, it trounces Netflix handily IMO. Disney+ is off to a banging start by any mainstream analysis, and that's rad for them to be sure, but right now it's just The Mandalorian Channel for me.

Nothing else on that list particularly interests me, but my household's subscribed to Nintendo Online and we think it's worth the miniature investment.

Five years ago, it would have been a toss-up between Netflix and Amazon Prime. Today, I think that I have to go with Game Pass Ultimate. It just keeps getting better and better.
