They are overstating revenue by $6 billion dollars to appease shareholders.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/disney-whistleblower-tells-marketwatch-revenue-203957500.html

Time to come clean, Disney, you got woke and are slowly going broke (Star Wars is dead due to wokeness and EA, some of the live action remakes bombed, then there's unrelated failures and blunders such as hiking ticket prices for Disney theme parks) and you are scared of the shareholders so you exploited software flaws and counted one sale as two among other things to cover up losses to try keep them happy, which is against the law.

In its statement, Disney said, The claims she made to the company were thoroughly investigated and found to be utterly baseless.

Is this a we investigated ourselves and found ourselves to be innocent type deal? >_>

either way id believe it. Dont give a crap one way or the other though.

Star Wars didn't die because of wokeness. It was because TLJ was a subpar movie made by a guy with little experience.

Regardless, it's not really dead, but they're definitely taking time off for several years after TRoS and have canceled everything but The Mandalorian and the D&D trilogy. TV might just turn out to be a better way to go especially with Jon Favreau behind the helm.

Yes, I saw that, but when will it happen?

Iger said it's on hiatus till 2022. They have their movies lined up to 2027. So maybe 2028 at the earliest.

Do you think they're gonna repeat the mistake of attempting two Star Wars in a year again when Iger is against it?

Why was D&D's trilogy announced way after RJ's, but was officially announced way before?

The guy who broke the news about the upcoming trilogy being D&D's has a pretty good track record and stated that RJ will be working as a consultant with D&D's trilogy and that it's otherwise not a whole different thing.

Would make sense to combine them if that's what happened. No idea though. They clearly needed to scale back after Solo flopped hard. Star Wars is never going to be the MCU.

Star Wars is most certainly failing. The toys is an example. Galaxy's Edge underperforming is another.
Kids don't care about it anymore, and they've ruined any goodwill from the people who grew up with it.

lmao, yes, your local fucking Walmart is evidence of Star Wars failing, genius.

It's between movies, and every store I've seen around here still has plenty of Black Series and 3.75"s from Resistance and whatnot. And when the ROS Force Friday hits you can bet your ass there'll be a ton more.

As of last year Star Wars is still up there in sales. Only Marvel is the bigger movie property if you can even consider it one

https://www.npd.com/wps/portal/npd/us/news/press-releases/2019/global-toy-sales-declined-by-2-percent-in-2018-reports-the-npd-group/

Looking at the top five selling toy properties across the G13 in 2018, L.O.L. Surprise! was the largest property overall, holding first position in six out of 13 global markets followed by Barbie, Marvel Universe, Nerf, and Star Wars.

But toy sales in general are going down. 2019 will be a more interesting story when you'll see tie-in merch for Star Wars, Marvel, Frozen and all of the live action remakes.

No matter what Disney wins.

People like Favreau is what we need (Happy from the MCU for those who don't know. He also did Jungle Book and Lion King, which was overall pretty good despite the weird realistic animals for the latter.)
