39 y/o Whacko, Curt James Brockway from Montana was arrested for assaulting a 13 y/o boy by BODY SLAMMING him to the ground because he REFUSED to take off his HAT during the national anthem!!

The overly patriotic man assaulted the boy at the Minerall County Fair and Rodeo when the national anthem started playing and things were quiet until suddenly a loud POP was heard

Taylor Hennick heard that loud pop and said "There was a little boy lying on the ground. He was bleeding out of his ears, seizing on the ground, just not coherent"

Witnesses also saw the man and identified the 4 eyed moron and saw him pick up the teen and slammed him to the ground

Curt tried to JUSTIFY his actions as the crowd began blasting him for the attack

Taylor said "He said the boy was disrespecting the national anthem so he had EVERY RIGHT to do that"

The 13 y/o was identified as Wally Keeler and was taken to a local hospital before he was flown to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Spokane.

The boy's mom, Megan Keeler said her son was bleeding form his ears for 6 hours

She said "He's deathly afraid of strangers. He doesn't remember anything. All the witnesses i have talked to said this was completely random. There was no exchange, nothing! He targeted Wally and took him down"

The teen is now recovering who said "It's just a lot of pain in my head. I don't remember anything, the rodeo, the helicopter, nothing"

Brockway was arrested as DOJ records indicate he has a history of being a violent offender and was in the midst of serving a 10 year probation sentence for an assault with a weapon in 2010

Do you think having your hat on during the national anthem is "disrespectful"??

Why not? Bail is usually only denied under certain circumstances, such as the individual being a flight risk. Whether he sits in prison awaiting trial or is at home awaiting trial, he's going to spend the same amount of time in a jail if he's convicted (which, if you do something in a place with dozens of witnesses and admit to having done it, he's pretty much guaranteed to be found guilty) because the time spent in jail beforehand counts as time served. The only way it'd make a difference is if he saw no prison time at all -- which, even if he took a plea, seems absurdly unlikely since he seriously injured a young minor in an unprovoked attack.

Not for nothing, but a guy running for office in Staten Island was recorded threatening to throw a journalist over a balcony (because the reporter had asked questions about an ongoing criminal investigation into the politician) and he STILL won his election. The only reason he had to resign is because that investigation he was asked about led to a conviction. >_>

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/nov/17/greg-gianforte-guardian-reporter-ben-jacobs-assault

Jacobs was attempting to ask the candidate to state a position on the Republican healthcare plan.

Secor described the interview: He then went on to explain I probably shouldnt do it but I reached out for his phone he grabbed my wrist, he spun, and we ended up on the floor so he pulled me down on top of him Gianforte said the liberal media is trying to make a story.

The police report also reveals the preoccupation of Gianforte and his campaign staff with the Guardian, which had previously published a video documentary about the special election. The video included two occasions when Gianforte refused to answer questions from a different Guardian reporter, Paul Lewis.

Gianfortes scheduler, Kerri Lin Seekins-Crow, told investigators that Gianforte and Scanlon had discussed having multiple problems with both the Guardian and BuzzFeed reports in the past because they have been duplicitous and very aggressive while driving from the airport earlier that day.

Gianfortes driver, Joshua Elle, told investigators that on at least three other occasions reporters from the Guardian had approached Gianforte in a brash or aggressive manner.

Elle added that during the drive to the Bozeman campaign event, Gianforte and Scanlon had decided not to give Jacobs an interview based primarily on negative coverage Gianforte had received from Guardian journalists in the past.

The report states that Elle witnessed Jacobs and Gianforte on the ground, and it appeared as though Gianforte was striking the reporter with closed fists. He later reported seeing Jacobs with two purple marks on the right side of his face.

Do I think its disrespectful to wear a hat during the anthem? Yes. While it ultimately doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things, its the custom here, so it is disrespectful.

That said, on a scale of 1-10, this is a disrespect level of 1. Maybe a 2, tops. The assaulted deserves jail time for assault, and double it for attacking a minor.

As to your general poll question TC, While it is disrespectful to not remove your hat during the anthem.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/36/301

The simple fact is that that is not what the article you posted was about. What is going on there is some lunatic assaulting a child over wearing a hat during the anthem and given that
1- the kid has the right to wear the hat during the anthem (even if it is a sign of disrespect),

2- that it is Never ok to beat up a child and

3- even if it was an adult Wearing the hat or some other form of disrespect is still not a good reason by the law or morally.

This guy should go to jail for a very long time.

Just going to the fair probably didnt violate any conditions of his parole, but this attack would definitely violate it. However the US operates under innocent until proven guilty so they cant use the thing hes on trial for as a reason to claim he violated parole until hes proven guilty of it in court.
