Also, my HOT takes:

-THPS3 has the best sets of levels in the series. Tokyo, Skater Island, Airport, and Cruise Ship are all GOAT tier levels
-THUG is overrated. The story is good, but the missions are bland and most of the levels suck. San Diego, Vancouver, and Tampa are all bad.
-THUG2 gets too much hate. Just ignore the dumb story and the game is awesome. Fun story mode, fun classic mode, tons and tons of create-a-modes, and so many levels to play with

I only had 3 on the PS1 so I never got to experience the greatness how it should have been experienced. The PS1 version was slow, choppy, and the draw distance was terrible. Back then it was still fun, but it's almost unplayable now.

Somehow I never got around to playing 2. When I first heard about 3 I was shocked cause I didn't know there was a second one. I wonder what rock I was under at the time.

THUG 2 is still the best. Even if one doesn't like the Jackass/Viva La Bam story mode (I did cause I watched those shows religiously at the time), the gameplay, classic mode, and all the other stuff should well make up for it.

I went through the first THUG recently and I also felt the goals and levels were kinda bland for the most part. Those vehicle missions were terrible.

Yeah, idk why they even bothered to put those in the game. The only fun vehicle part was the one in the secret KISS level, but even that got boring quickly

Thug2 had too many filler mechanics, and the level design didn't make up for that.

I always loved THUGs level design, although I seem to be in the minority on that.

I really didn't like most of the levels. NJ, NYC, Skate Jam, and Hawaii were okay. But rest were awful. They didn't have anything interesting in them and San Diego is probably my #1 least favorite level ever in Tony Hawk >_>

THAW is where the series died for me imo. It felt so rushed, had some many glitches and the levels were boring. It was still fun, but you could tell Neversoft lost their drive and Activision was just cracking the whip at this point for more THPS games >_>

I remember back when there was a number of fans who wanted to drive cars in a skateboarding game for some odd reason. Maybe it was GTA 3 that gave people that bug. Neversoft must have listened to those fans.

THAW being the death of the series is true too. The game was a step down in almost every way.
