You put out Dirt in 92 and barely tour for it because your singer can't handle the rigours of life and the drugs are killing him. And as said, Jerry is the lead force in the band. LP came out of the gate absolutely on fire with 3 big singles and Paper Cut is the other single. Then it doesn't really let up until... the 4th album? The first 3 albums each have mega hits on them and LP toured reasonably.
