Ahh got ya

You actually can extend the binomial coefficients to the reals or even complex numbers! (Though probably not on a TI-83 since iirc you needed an 89 to do integrals?)

You do so by replacing the factorials with the gamma function (which is super cool): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamma_function

Also as long as k is a fixed nonnegative integer, you can make x choose k continuous in x without getting into any integrals: x choose k = x*(x-1)*...*(x-k+1)/k!
