180) The Ninja Warriors (Sega CD) - Daddy Mulk
https://youtu.be/63PiaOJEoe8

Composer: Hisayoshi Ogura
Score: 3.6/10 (Not Good)
Favorite part: The first three seconds.
VGMC History: VGMC 8 (Lost R2), VGMC 9 (Lost R1), VGMC 11 (Lost R6 to Flying Clouds, Drifting Haze)

Heeeeeeyyy, its my first write-up! How exciting!!!!! Daddy Mulk kicks off with a familiar sound effect! (Chrono Trigger, anyone?) After that, the intro is catchy and kind of okay! After that, though, it just throws out one uninspired idea after another. Almost of it just follows the VI-VII-i chord progression, which is one of my least favorite progressions assuming other aspects of the music fall flat, which it does in this case. Most of the sounds used Im not fond of...the bass is annoying and the electronic scat singing is AWFUL. Generic repetitive impromptu-type ideas all over the place with too much emphasis on tonic. 2:24 has practically nothing going on. Ill give credit that it switches to Dorian a few times. I guess that helps. Hey, I found an instrument that I like the bells starting at 1:27 are nice! 3:11 has a cool little ascending wind thing. But the negatives outweigh the positives. Five minutes is way too long for this music! I never plan to listen to this again!
