The "Florida Man" trope is actually just a consequence of the fact that journalists in Florida have more or less full access to police reports and can therefore report on all of the insanity that happens there. Other states have more or less the same amount of insanity, it just doesn't get reported as often because the media doesn't have access to the details. --- This is my signature.
