So basically you're saying that both of your parties use the same verbiage as Republicans and Americans with harder-line stances regarding immigration? Keep in mind that even American Democrats have occasionally suggested opening borders and quite a few high-profile Democrats have all but suggested eliminating borders.

A few high-profile Democrats are outright batshit crazy Marxists, that does not make Democrats as a whole batshit crazy Marxists. We also have those spattered across the political spectrum running councils. The UK is softer on immigration than the US by a long shot, but we have more of a push away from immigration because our policies are already vastly more loose than yours. The policeman who wants to leave the force is not on the same moral level as the mobster who wants to leave the Mafia.
