Topic | Trilogies where the third entry is the strongest |

Tolkien wrote it as a single book, and it was split into three after the fact. So it doesn't necessarily have the deliberate structure inherent in most trilogies, where you have to establish distinct arcs for each third as well as for the overall work. I'd also be tempted to say that RotS wasn't the "strongest" as much as it was the "least weakest", but that's just me being petty.
