Aww I'm gonna miss the ol' Gamefaqs HTML tags...

Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None (PC)

Was it a good idea to adapt a murder mystery into a video game? If it was executed properly, yes. Was this game executed properly? Ehhhh...

Repetitive music, pixel hunts, unskippable dialogue, "puzzles". I suppose if you can look past all of that, the twist actually wasn't so bad. I've only ever read the original novel and I know they changed the ending in most modern adaptations so I don't know if the twist here is the same as those. But it was well done, and unlike other bullshit mystery games, you actually could figure it out if you were smart enough as the clues were just there. And then the game torpedoes with a cheesy ending. End scene.

To be fair, they expanded a bit of the lore to make it "adventure gameworthy". Secret passages. Lost histories of the mansion. They intentionally made the movement between rooms and pieces of rooms separated into these sections to give you the feeling that the whole island was large enough to lose someone who was just hiding and murdering all these guests.

Also nice of the game to include the original ending, but sadly only in excerpt form which was quite boring as I had already read this ages ago.

3/5. Might play the others.

It's not so cliche anymore when it's happening to you.
