That happens all the time. They find someone else to work more that day. My cousin is a doctor and he calls in sick once a month to take trips or due to a hangover or a headache

Also that company SUCKS at their job. They should be multiple staff to cover for vacations, sick days and if people are on lunch breaks or come to work late due to traffic or long line at Starbucks


In my line of work we are understaffed as fuck (all over the country to my understanding) so someone calling off makes a already dangerous job even more so. And my job is unfortunately necassary. If someone calls in and they cant find someone else guess who doesnt get to go home?
