I wouldn't donate money in the first place, outside of local shelters. Lord knows where that money is going to. Take Africa for example. They have been asking for donations for decades. Nothing has changed, even with the billions we've sent overseas.

At most the money is a band-aid fix. Without fixing the environment(figuratively) around it, nothing will ever change. More corruption in their government than Kelloggs.

This is also why I'm not too keen on donations and the idea that if every rich person donated, we could feed every mouth in the planet. If this happened, those mouths would be dependent on the rich for the next day, and the day after that. That makes for a weak civilization. What you want is for them to be self sustaining. Teach them to create the infrastructure to allow them to support themselves.

But a number of charities have stifled this development. I remember reading about a company that made a killing gaining donations for shoes in the US and giving them away in some part of Africa. They would advertise saying shoes cost along the lines of $30 to produce when in reality it cost $2 to manufacture. Even worse, this killed all local shoe businesses in the region they would donate the shoes to as there's no reason to buy shoes when you get it for free.

To the main topic, I have no opinion or feeling on Jenner flaunting her wealth. I do know that when I make it, I'm gonna be fighting the urge to be utterly insufferable 24/7.
