I remember BTB having the biggest nostalgia boner for everything from the 80s and 90s and swearing up and down the street that everything after was commercialized trash I think it's because his love-life went to hell at some point in his life, then I'm guessing he would have started reminiscing about when life was better. He may have got the false idea that everything in the present sucked when in reality it was his love life that made him hate everything not nostalgic, and take less enjoyment in anything he didn't grow up with. --- ~Nintendo 64.
