Well it is hard to forget! Like I said at its actual write-up, it's a rather intense song divided into four chapters. It's certainly an experience. ==================== #297 (#296): Octogram - TOBACCO - Nominator: GameBopAdv (9/9) (1.5, -0, 0) [This was a song. No further comments.] Was it a song? I never dislike it, but I never remember anything about it either. It's nice enough, but it needs...something? Anything? It's like the intro of a great song, that then repeats itself over and over for three minutes while forgetting to play the actual song part. ...and no, I don't really know what a score of "negative zero" means either. It just felt appropriate at the time. [Final Thoughts: I do somewhat like the lower tones used in the track, I think they start around :56? I've never really thought about it, but I think I like the general vibe those notes and tones are giving off. There's just not much else going for the track; it still feels like an intro or a backing track, with a rather large part that's been cut off. The song just doesn't feel whole to me, for some reason.] ==================== ==================== #296 [#294]: Song: Preuens Gloria (prussia glory march) Origin: Johann Gottfried Piefke Link: Nominator: handsomeboy2012 [15/15] (1, 0, 0) [This style of music really isnt my thing. It could inspire a bit of a history lesson, the nomination is all dont you wanna learn about the victory that inspired this music?, but I...dont have any particular interest in learning about that war, thank you.] Can't think of anything I want to add to that right now. [Final Thoughts: Between my general disinterest in classical music and my distaste for military themes, this song was going to have to be really great to overcome all the biases I had against it. The low placement kinda says it all. It avoided last place because... well, at the time, I was feeling more generous to something being educational. Like, even if I don't particularly want to research that point of history, I could vaguely appreciate that it was offering a jumping on point to learning something. Today... I think I'd probably flip this one's place with Octogram (or possibly move Octogram up a couple more spaces--not many, but it provides a chance to try to consider what it is about those tones that I find appealing, which is probably more than can be said for a few other songs?) ==================== --- A not very secret alt account for when Raetsel wants to be a pony ...
