I mean you might have just phased out through section then, because that wasn't really a detail in and of itself that mattered. He hadn't seen the waitress's face, didn't remember where he was sitting at that time, claimed that the victim was wearing his HMD and the radio on his left ear - which was deaf and undergoing medication - and testified that the victim had broken a vase on his table as he died before realizing that he had done that himself. It wasn't just one thing that was a problem. Sure you find out later it's because he witnessed a staged event and not the actual murder, but that isn't clear at the time. Underleveled posted... 4 is just not a great game in general. The frigging tutorial might be the best case. 4-1 is a top tier case, though.
