One fundamental thing I forgot to mention.

If a unit gets attacked at the same time that it's carrying out a support order, then its support is "cut" and doesn't count.

So sometimes there will be a guessing game when you know a player is going to attack you, but you aren't sure which unit will be doing the attacking and which unit will be doing the supporting.

Caveat: a unit can't cut support that is being used to attack it. So if army A is attacking army B with support from army C, army B can't cut the support by attacking army C. That's still considered a 2v1.
