mostly

some people are psychos and cannot be rehabilitated

most people can be rehabilitated

real talk, I think the main reason why rehabilitation isn't appealing to people is not because it can't work, but because people feel it isn't right to let someone eventually walk free after they do something heinous. vengeance is more important than redemption to most people

Its not about vengeance, its about keeping things tidy. Criminals certainly shouldnt go free until theyve undone the damage they did to their victim at the minimum. Is their anything wrong with that outlook?

how do you undo the damage done by a murder?

Guess you cant. Throw away the key.

see, that's what I mean by vengeance. pretty much just writing someone off forever. not saying you're wrong for thinking that, the majority of people agree with you. but my point stands

I disagree that its about vengeance. Vengeance would imply that there is a desire for them to suffer or otherwise care in some way about them. Writing them off forever is about recognizing there is no place for them in society, so theyre out. Keeping things tidy.

At least Im against the death penalty.
