It's true that essentially bribing citizens for votes is really corrosive to any republic in the long run, so I'm very hesitant to be too enthusiastic about any proposal that benefits me substantially more than the median voter. I have a higher student loan balance than the median person with student loans (and obviously more than the median voter).
