| AxemRedRanger 12/14/18 8:02:38 PM #39: | The difference between Vader and Sephiroth is that while Vader is really old now and has been parodied relentlessly, he's never been treated as cool to hate. Prequel Anakin and some of his actors, sure, but Vader himself? No way; it's partly because Vader is so near-universally liked that some of the prequel stuff annoyed people. Whereas the campaign against Sephiroth has been pretty vicious in comparison and it's ridiculously easy to find people who don't think the character is any good at all. The reasons for the differing reaction can be debated but I don't think it can be seriously debated that the long-term reaction to the two has been different.
