Pre-show: Perry Saturn d. Axl Rotten (D)

Your tag champs (Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck) open the show. They are the heart and soul of ECW, and they're gonna be here long after Public Enemy and the Headhunters move on! (C+) 3-way elimination tag for the titles follows, with both Public Enemy and The Headhunters challenging. Headhunters knock off Public Enemy after putting them through their own table, but Jack and Mikey are able to beat them down for the win afterwards. (C; Jack carried it) The Pitbulls are WATCHING BACKSTAGE because they're here to stay too! (D+)

Rey Misterio Jr, Juventud Guerrera, and Konnan form somewhat of a motley crew against Raven's Nest. (Raven, Stevie Richards, and Blue Meanie) The luchadores have obvious talent, but there's tension between Konnan and the faces, whereas Raven's little cult is a well-oiled machine. The heels are eventually able to ground and pound the Mexicans for the win. (D+; Meanie struggled) Konnan storms backstage, Juvy is selling on the outside, and Rey is all alone with the Nest! They surround young Misterio, and start working him over....Tommy Dreamer comes running down! He sends the Nest scattering with a kendo stick before the beatdown can intensify. (D)

We have a second three-way elimination match tonight, and this one is for #1 Contendership! Sabu, Too Cold Scorpio, and Shane Douglas are all looking for a shot. Scorpio is out first, eliminated by Douglas. Sabu has Douglas down...out comes Bill Alfonso, in a suit! He chokes Sabu out from behind! Douglas is able to find his feet, and put Sabu away as a result! (C+; Sabu carried, Douglas struggled; Alfonso's Anti-Hardcore got Poor) Paul Heyman comes out to confront Alfonso about getting involved, but Alfonso tells Heyman he's not in charge anymore, and leaves with Douglas. (C-)

The World Title itself will be defended in a Stretcher match, as Sandman faces challenger Jimmy Del Ray. A disappointingly weak brawl ensues, and Sandman retains after Del Ray gets a thorough caning. (E+; Sandman: "Putting me in a Brawl Based match does not play to my strengths")

OVERALL: D (R.D. Reynolds' road agent-ing penalized every match)

Axl Rotten (twice) and Raven and Meanie have all been fined for wrestling while high. Sandman has been fined for wrestling while drunk. All are on strike one. This is gonna be a long game.
