If I was at a party, and somebody pointed to a globe and said "hey look, there's a river called da noob", I would not consider that to be a fun, entertaining, 'party' thing to say. It would ruin the mood of the people who are trying to do some actual partying, and who aren't in the mood to look at a globe and make fun of how things are named.
If anything, my comment about how his pronunciation was incorrect would likely discourage him from pursuing any further activities that lessen the quality of the party. In turn, that would enhance the quality of the party.
