| Topic | Many white people still don't understand the black mentality |
| KStateKing17 04/04/17 1:35:59 PM #48: | The pocket knife one doesn't seem to bad to me, but I'm not from the south so I can't really comment on the atmosphere and strength of stereotypes there. I will say that there are still a lot of ignorance and misconceptions from people who don't really hang around people with different ethnic backgrounds. As diverse as it is, there's still white people who make comments like "you're one of the good ones", or black people being surprised at a white person that dances well. There really is a difference in how we see the world, because of our environment. Black kids are taught to avoid the police at an early age. The pressure of not being a failure of society is heavily pushed on black males which doesn't really motivate them.
