1. I'm at work at the hospital and a white woman I work with was looking for some scissors. She couldn't find any so she ask me and another black guy casually if we had a pocket knife on one of us. It was a very honest question. We are in the south so people carry pocket knives all the time. Especially white people. The thing is that you won't catch a black person carrying a weapon like that at work. You won't catch us carrying a weapon like that in general unless for a specific reason. We know what that can lead to. We looked at each other and laughed. There was no way in hell we would bring that to work. She didn't fully understand.

This sounds more like paranoia than anything

2. My brother got a white girl pregnant which is a risk down here to begin with. Some of you may remember that topic I made. She didn't tell anyone. Now she finally wants to tell her parents this in person with him together. She told my brother this and the first question he asked was, "Do they know I'm black?" She said no and asked why does it matter? I don't understand how she doesn't know why it doesn't matter. It matters a ton. You could have him walk into his own death to be honest. He told her that and she claimed he was being silly. She just doesn't understand.

"Some stranger knows her parents better than she does."

Real life isn't like the movie Get Out

3. At work a Dr that trust me a lot asked me to take his car and get some gas for him since he was about to go out of town when he gets off. He said to stay on the clock and do it and you can go home early afterwards for doing him this favor. It was a 2016 Mercedes-Benz. I guess he saw I was nervous and asked what was wrong. I said it was nothing and went to do that for him. The thing is that... black people stick out in cars like that. Especially young black males. We are targeted by police and such when they see something like that. I was pretty nervous while driving his car and I don't think he understood why.

Actually they found that the discrepancy in pull overs is largely due to there being more people who speed in the black community

I guess you can say 1 is more paranoia than anything but there is a reason why that is.

2. Sure that is a rare occurrence but it has happened enough in real life for it to be a legit concern. Not people dying per day but defiantly violence breaking out.

3. It's not about black people getting pulled over more for speeding. It's about getting pulled over more often in certain situations when you weren't breaking the law.
