I switched to joystiq when the new gawker layout went live. it's awful and doesn't load on my blackberry. I never really enjoyed the kotaku writers, either. joystiq is more professional.
GiantBomb's news section has really picked up ever since Patrick Klepek joined the site, and Alex moved to New York. It's still a small scale outfit, but Klepek researches his articles very well, and has written some insightful pieces since joining the site. GiantBomb is still about video and presenting the consumer with as much information about a product as possible, but they seem poised to become the best news site out there in a few years if they continue to grow as they have.
