| Topic | People say boomer music is only good because time forgot the trash |
| bigblu89 07/23/21 10:17:22 AM #73: | QueenCarly posted... The amount of listenable music has exponentially grown since technology has lead to the democratization of music creation. The problem is, we consume SO much content compared to decades past that none of it will have staying power. It's too the point where buying music, even in digital form, is an antiquated practice. The days of having 100 records, cassettes, or CDs, or even having 1000 songs on you phone, are over. People stream their music, and don't really "keep" any of it anymore, so we're constantly moving on to the next one. I posted something similar about movies. None of the movies that come out now, save for the "franchise" stuff like Star Wars, Harry Potter, and MCU, none of them will turn into "Modern Classics" like so many movies from the 80's and 90's simply because none of them have rewatchability when you stream them once then move on to the next thing. No one is buying DVDs to watch movies over and over again anymore. Like, no one is going to be wearing "Bridesmaids" T-Shirts 30 years from now like we do with movies like Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Goonies, etc. --- It takes zero effort to be a good person. ...
