| Topic | I don't understand why your ID can't be expired to buy alcohol |
| Unbridled9 06/05/21 7:55:20 PM #90: | MICHALECOLE posted... when I made this topic I really failed to realize how passionate people were about this silly law A lot of people who have worked retail have had to deal with customers providing inaccurate, invalid, or otherwise questionable I.D. and then raised a fuss when pressed for more accurate identification. It always puts them in a frustrating spot and it doesn't help when the customer insists that the problem is the retail worker who, likely, just wants to keep the line moving, keep their job, and not commit a company policy violation or felony. Bring your proper I.D. next time. The I.D. is what matters, not 'if you can tell how old you are'. Some states require I.D. for anyone under the age of 40 or 80 or without limit. It doesn't matter if you're clearly 'old enough', if they don't card they can lose a license, be convicted of a felony, and/or lose their job. At best they have to defer to management and it causes problems if the management and cashier aren't in agreement. --- I am the gentle hand who heals, the happy smile who shields, and the foot that will kick your ***! - White Mage ...
