Confusing i.e. and e.g.

i.e. is short for the Latin phrase "id est", which means "that is".
e.g. is short for the Latin "exempli gratia", which means "for example"

You use i.e. when you want to provide more information, a definition, or clarification, and you use e.g. when you want to provide examples.

He likes to play casual games, i.e., video games targeted at a mass market audience.
He likes to play casual games, e.g. Bejeweled, Peggle, and Plants vs Zombies.
