Yeah the first guy might have been a clear case of self-defense. But I would imagine the situation to be completely chaotic.
Imagine you are around the block, didn't see any of it happening. All you see is people running away screaming that somebody shot a guy. Next thing you see is a guy with a rifle running around. Nobody knows who this guy is and what his intentions are. If you think he is coming to shoot you, you will try to fucking take his gun away.

I imagine most people who are concerned that someone will shoot him would retreat.

But fair enough. I acknowledge the confusion of a chaotic situation. They probably thought they were apprehending a bad guy.

However, with the video evidence we have, the facts of the matter show Rittenhouse fleeing and a group of people chasing him. And the only people of that group he shot are the ones who swung a skateboard at his head and pulled a handgun on him. And only after he tripped and had his back against the ground, so to speak.

He showed more restraint than he could have.
