That's why. A lot of guys are scared they'll fall into a trap where the girl spends all their money on lavish vacations while he works his ass off.

It's not always a fair assessment, but it's a big reason as to why guys are wary about it.

And most guys who worry about that are also the ones who couldn't afford to go anywhere to begin with nor have the personality to get anyone to want to travel with them. It's kind of like the guys who worry about pre-nups and divorce but are broke as hell and perpetually single. It's a completely irrational fear.
