I bought it from an American fossil dealer on ebay. I researched them and also did my research on the egg and what they're supposed to look like, the signs you usually see on fakes (not a good idea to buy Chinese), etc.

Of course, there's only so much certainty you can have with pictures and reputation and such, but I was certain when I saw it and touched it that it was real, which is why it stressed me out so much to have it in my possession. Lol.

It was my childhood dream to have one and I'm glad that I had that experience, but I'm equally glad that it's out of my hair now. I've got other fossils (ammonites and such) that don't stress me out because they're a lot more common and not as big of a deal as something like that. Not as fragile, either.
