The only time Ive ever called police for noise complaints was when I lived in a 2nd story apartment and my bedroom window was facing the neighbors patio and they were having screaming matches at 3am.

It was a young woman and her two children. She was mostly having arguments with her on and off again boyfriend. It got to the point where the management company found out and banned him from the property. We were explicitly told to call the police if we saw him.
