Taking a step back and thinking about it and reading this topic, I realized my question was pure ignorance on my part lol. It has a lot to do with how snakes eat and how long they digest, which I wasn't even ignorant about, I just...didn't think. I love snakes, though, I'd just never have one as a pet.
