Topic	for real though, why does it take square 8-9 years to release a game?

In the time it took to make that piece of shit FF15, nearly a dozen amazing games were released on an almost yearly-basis. Obviously times have changed and games have more effort put into them on the presentation front, but Jesus, even then, something like The Witcher 3 took three years to make. There's absolutely no excuse. Squeenix HQ is a mismanaged mess that appoints incompetent directors to lead games that inevitably wind up stuck in development hell, only to release to lukewarm receptions because of how unremarkable they are.
