They're not even nearly as prolific as they used to be. It's like soap operas - the genre as a whole sort of lost its niche over the last couple decades.

At this point, new shows mostly only show up on the Game Show Network. But that's a tiny audience at best, so the shows are being made on really small budgets and with minimal effort.

That being said, yeah, new game shows still get made. Most of them don't seem like good shows though.

I guess that has a lot to do with the way people consume television now. I do feel like it would be difficult to create something that would garner a large, loyal audience in the streaming age.
