Handful of times in my life in the states. All the local ones where ever I lived at the time were trash, with the best experiences I've had at Vegas ones. Still, night clubbing ain't my thing. Think I've gotten just enough kicks out of it in life but find it largely pointless otherwise.

Europe ones can be way fun, similar to Vegas scene, but more for the common man.i actually wound up going to Kit Kat last year while in Berlin without knowing really what it was. Aka, likely the world's most famous (notorious?) Sex club.

The most fun I ever had in a club was in the Culture Club in NYC. Just fantastic nostalgia and tons of people who were just out to have a good time, which just made for a way better vibe than the clubs where everyone was too cool for the room, or everyone was just out trying to get laid.

Shame it's gone now. And that none of the handful of imitators it spawned ever really seemed to catch on.

Of course, it's not like I'd be going there at this point anyway. Nostalgia can make for a great club experience, but eventually your body just gets too broken down for it, so there's always going to be an upper window on how long you can exploit that dance music era for (ie, most people who were teens in the 80s are in their 50s now). Clubs like Culture Club or Poly Ester's (with a 70s theme) can only last for so long before customers stop coming.
