I really like seeing success stories like this and Cyberpunk. The internet really likes to focus on negativity but companies that take that to heart and fix their games are great, rather than just saying "welp that failed, better shut down the servers". how is he gimmicky? why is okay for other directors to have a certain style, but when Wes Anderson does it it's considered pretentious and cringe? Can't like a Wes Anderson film without being called a tryhard hipster.

Who even says this? He's a well lauded director. But his style is much more of a gimmick than other directors because it's so extreme and completely saturates his movies. You can take any single frame and tell it's a Wes Anderson movie vs other directors that just like a certain lighting style, or have a proclivity for long takes. It's one of his biggest strengths and weaknesses.

I don't think it's obscure, but I'm surprised that Tubi isn't more celebrated. A good amount of classics familiar and obscure, plus free.

Seriously. Tubi is probably my favorite overall site because it's got stuff other sites wouldn't touch and it's completely free. I get it doesn't have a whole lot of mainstream appeal but they do still host a good number of blockbusters and stuff. But if you're into obscure stuff or B movies it's a must.

Apart from that, just because they're more narrow, it's either criterion or I get shudder every october.

I like living in NYC so far (about 6 weeks) but I still wouldn't want to do it long term. People talk about how you can find anything you want at any time but the only things around here are shitty corner stores and smatterings of pizza, and Mexican food, and a few other things. Even the couple of grocery stores around here have awful produce and less selection combined than a local Harris Teeter back in SC. I have to take a 20 minute subway ride to get to anything of real note. And it's not like I live way out in the Bronx or something. I'm on the upper east side. And it is absolutely fucking filthy.

I've had real ramen a few times and I was very unimpressed. Literally nothing in it had flavor except the broth. Noodles are noodles, that's fine, but the meat and vegetables just tasted like they'd just been thrown in there and boiled with the noodles.

Please stop responding to these weak ass trolls. Y'all really need to learn how to restrain yourselves.

A place I used to go to had one of these. Surprisingly it was a checkers in the hood. It was great though. It understands orders just fine and gave the workers more time to stick their fingers on their asses instead of getting people's food ready.

We used to eat a meal my parents called beat meat when I was a kid. It was some kind of beef, beat to shit and flattened out, then cooked with cream of mushroom soup as a gravy. A lot of this is true. Youtube is just from a different time period of the internet compared to modern streaming and social media. Everything on the internet used to just be free and no one could have predicted the insane growth Youtube would have over a couple decades. So going from this old school video sharing site to the one and only content creation site like it on the web, there's no great turning point for where and how it should change. They're free to host ads just as much as I'm free to block them. Eventually one side or the other will give in, but until then, there's no easy transition to a traditional paid platform.

And my personal perspective, Youtube is one of the biggest sites on the web, owned by one of the biggest companies in the world. With the various behind the scene ad deals they have, investors, and the pure ubiquitousness of the site, there's no way they're hurting for money enough that they are forced to change to a full premium model.

Streaming services are definitely not getting a free pass about their shenanigans. I've seen much more complaining bout that than about Youtube premium. However, there is still a big difference between companies raising prices and a free service trying to charge while offering nothing in exchange.

This. The only examples I can think of some metal songs that have a good sounding intro and then hit you with the pig sounds, but there's no song I can think of that I really want to like just because of a few seconds.

It's not about kids seeing nipples. It's about women advertising porn on youtube. You see this kind of thing across all social media but most others don't allow nudity so they just have girls in bikinis and lingerie. This is just so blatant, it's gross.

I thought it was decent for a while but the addition of fairy tale creatures doesn't really take it far away from being a standard procedural. The side characters were really fun though. Werewolf dude and sexy gerbil lady were great.
