LTTP is widely considered one of the best games of all time by pretty much all parts of the gaming community. Whenever a non GameFAQS site has a Games Contest, LTTP is always one of the only SNES Era games to make it in and it always does fairly well

Some of you decided to make things easy for me, nominating easy-to-understand Disney songs or popular music. SOME OF YOU decided to nominate songs from obscure Russian musicals based on a book series about FANTASY TIME TRAVEL spun off of Dungeons & Dragons without even a wiki page for me to reference! Note: I did end up finding the Dragonlance wiki, but it definitely took some work to infer what events from the books the musical was referencing.

In terms of influence on its genre DQ3 is more important to the development of JPRGs than SMB3 was to the development of platformers. Full stop. SMB3 is probably the more popular game overall, obviously, but in terms of genre importance, there were a lot of platformers on the NES, including SMB1 and 2 different SMB2s.
