Simon's a little too inscrutable in the wrong ways to have me fully buy him as this super mastermind. If I'm remembering it correctly, he could have just done nothing before E2-4 and things likely would have gone his way in the end.

Otherwise, this is a pretty high rating for a case I remember pretty poorly, but I did quite enjoy it at the time.

Before I can rate this, can anyone remind me why Simon does any of the shit he's responsible for besides getting Knightley killed? Was E2-3 just him being mad at his dad? Past that I have no idea.

I heard the Jewish server had them, though.

I like 6-3 but the only thing reminiscent of a finale is how the first trial day ends. And really that only applies to a specific moment from one finale.

Cool premise that doesn't really shine as much as I would have hoped.

And yeah Courtney and Debeste have perhaps the worst introductions of any major characters in the entire series.

I actually haven't played it. I only watched dowolf's translation.

Oh, btw, as far as Consecrated Snowfields goes, there are tactics I don't think if we ever covered.

1. If you're actually in one of the limited shelter areas during the snowstorm, no enemy will spawn. The problem is the spacing is so fucked that it's very hard to work with that and at some points literally impossible.
2. I've never done this myself, but supposedly they're permanently despawnable like any other DS2 enemy with repeated kills.

You just have to run into Aldia every time you can, which all happens at pretty obvious bonfires.

The reason boss runbacks get largely reduced or removed in later games is that they fall into one of two categories. They're either easily trivialized once people learn how to play these games, or they're awful bullshit like this.

Even then Elden Ring tosses in the Placidusax runback for no reason.

Also the runback for either Chariot or Skeleton Lords (I forget which) becomes pretty stupid in NG+. DS2 is like the only game that really adds shit to NG+, but it's not always for the best.

Yeah, I guess by "worst" I really meant laziest. He's certainly the easiest!

I know you fought the trio. I may have missed you talking about it, but the boss at the end of the other co-op section is even worse than these two.

Each DLC has an area that the idea was to force co-op without actually forcing co-op. None of them are great but this one is not only awful, playing co-op really doesn't "solve" anything about it. Except the boss I guess.

I've never really understood the strong distaste a lot of people have for Yew. I mean her laugh shtick is stupid but I can just tune out for a sec whenever she does it.

Honestly this is a mostly pretty solid case to me. Really most of its points are deducted at the expense of Edgeworth's character. If I wanted to DA the shit out of it I could argue this outcome just hardened him further, but that's probably putting more thought into it than the writers did.

Nothing about this case was actively terrible but it really just never did anything worth mentioning. I also remember feeling like Franziska's only purpose here is to give us a competent adversary for a few minutes, which seems like a waste.

I mean whatever problems they had in 2016 it sure as shit was never, at any point, money. They raised concerns at some point but it was really just never actually all that bad and a weird fake "humble-brag" to talk about how much Trump could just self-finance.

But no I'm not out here unfurling the "Mission Accomplished!" banners either.
