Actually, if you read Timmy's posts, the goal is to eliminate all non-gaming related discussion. He doesn't state that outright, but his statements make it pretty clear that this is Fandom's goal.

I'm guessing the goal is to get rid of the social boards more then anything non gaming.

I highly doubt they're all that worried about the Sports boards or whatever.

College WNBA was pretty sick this year and hopefully they and fans keep up the momentum so eventually the players earn more.

There's definitely going to be an uptick in attendance to start the year at least.

This is arguably the most stacked draft class in WNBA history, and that's with Paige Buckets going back for one more run at it. Guys who have never watched a W game in there life were going apeshit for the draft this year.

To be fair several WNBA players have said they know that they won't get what the men are being paid. What they want is revenue sharing and a percentage of merch sales.

Which would be fine if the W actually made money, but it doesn't. Hopefully Clark, Brink etc bring more eyes to it so that can happen, but I won't hold my breath.

WNCAA is simply way more popular than the Dub.

Boomer shooters kinda crashed thanks to Slipgate Ironworks and 3D Realms. They spewed out three mediocre or incomplete shooters in a short timespan late last year and early this year that got mixed to poor reception, simply because they suddenly had a change of ownership so they need to get out their current projects ASAP.

They didn't crash at all lol. Slipgate games are garbage tier, but there's so many bangers in early access right now plus Cultic chapter 2 later this year. They'll be fine.

As others have said they bought it as part of a package with some other sites. Probably thought this place was just an archaic version of GameSpot and didnt realize that there even was social boards.

Then some pencil pushing suit was made aware of the political discussion and ass topics etc and freaked out about what advertisers would think if they saw CE.

Youll note that most of the mods seem to be against these changes, and DToast didnt make the announcement himself. Its all a money thing at this point. CNET didnt care about the bottom line. Fandom does.

I've spent 17 years of my life on CE and this is one of the few places on the internet that always had something that would make me laugh. Or cringe, whatever.

Shout out to the IRL friends I made here (@Daffadilio and Fire Thief even though he's no longer here).

I know I didn't see eye to eye with everyone here, and people hated my gimmick and what not, but I really am going to miss this place.

It's been a blast. Godspeed everyone. See y'all on the other side.

Or... and this is speculation (at the moment), there was an internal struggle over this decision and rather than put DToast's head on the block they brought in another, higher level person to "make the decision".

Considering several mods have already expressed disappointment at the decision youre probably right but who knows.

Also I find it interesting that DToast didnt post the announcement himself and its some random admin working for Fandom.

Almost makes me think that even DToast himself didnt get a say in this and that the higher ups at Fandom put the hammer down.

Doesn't any mods have any blithe remarks that they want to post itt? Those are usually my favorite whenever a topic is about to be locked. It's like in shows when the cop hurls an insult at the perpetrator they just captured and beat up, always makes for a humorous scene.

Several mods have already said they were against this, but they had no choice.

Been on CE since 2007. Really feels like the beginning of the end.

I wonder what prompted this? When LUE went private 5000 years ago, it was because of foul shit. I havent seen anything extreme like that lately so I wonder where this change came from?

Had Jack in the Box at my friends place just last night. I was surprised that their chicken wrap things were fairly sizable considering that theyre only $3. Plus they accidentally put an extra one in, so I gave that one to another friend.

I used to like it as a kid in Vegas but I just tried it for the first time in over ten years and it was fucking awful

I loved it when I was in Honolulu as a kid. Had it for the first time in 16 years when I was in Arizona last year and it still held up, but it's probably based on location for quality.

I enjoy it a bunch. I bothered to buy the DLC when it was on sale and really enjoy the not-Thor and Dark Knight skulls myself(this one actually just got its basic attacks changed to magic damage which I appreciate). I've only won two runs in the base difficulty I think, and have since made it to the end on the first Black Mirror difficulty twice but haven't beaten it. The upgraded bosses, new enemies, and new upgrade systems are neat if you ever feel like the base game difficulty isn't doing it for you anymore.

Also NGL it took me forever to figure out what the green and orange-ish doors meant. The gold one was obvious for me but those two went over my head <_<

There's a British guy on YT who's entire channel is devoted to the game, and his beginner tips video was a godsend. I was getting steam rolled, also didn't understand the doors, and couldn't even hit the sub bosses, but since then I've done fairly okay.

This game is fucking hilarious. Some of the skull abilities have me in stitches.

My favorites so far are the one that spawns a metal band that does a screen wipe, and the one that lets you zoom around on a motorcycle to cheese bosses.

Fun game in it's own right, albeit hard as nails. Debating with myself whether I prefer it or Dead Cells for my rougelike go to.

Anyone else a fan of this one? Haven't heard many people talking about it like I have Dead Cells.
