Ninja Collection is a Yami Shibai spinoff
What...

But man, I really hope the Shika no Ou movie gets in theaters here in Thailand. I've only read 1/4 of the novel, but it was pretty damn good.

Violet Evergarden I think is alteady confirmed to be shown in Thailand, but God knows when it'll be thanks to the pandemic delay.

I actually finished volume 1 of Orphen when it was free to read last month.

Though it was fun, but also felt pretty unusual, like it's an end of one big adventure instead of the very beginning.
Pretty curious about how the storyline with Azalie will go though. I think I heard that each volume is a self-contained arc, with that storyline getting main focus every few volumes, so it might persist through the whole first series as the central conflict.

It's a novel from... 2015, I think? Also released alongside a toy line.

The anime is supposedly original material, just based on the same franchise.

I always wanted to get into Touhou but never did. I heard Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil (I probably got that wrong) was the one to start out with but I never got around to actually really playing it. I think I would like them though as I've gotten pretty into the few shoot em ups I've played (Ikaruga, etc)
The games before EoSD (TH6) are on PC-98, so they require an emulator to run and are very dated gameplay-wise (TH4-5 looked decent enough though).

I think you'd do perfectly fine if you've played Ikaruga, but just in case, I think the general opinion is that Imperishable Night (TH8) is the easiest of the modern titles.

So I have learned the reason NGNL will probably never get a second season is because the author was caught photoshopping existing Pixiv art.
That's old news. Like, very old. The issue was resolved mere weeks after it was brought up.
The series hasn't been getting new releases because the author has been pretty sick. Heard recently that he's been getting well enough to start writing again, though.

I'd recommend the VN since none of its animes really got the adaptation work right. Pretty long, though.
But from what you've already watched, I'd also say Zero (adapted from novel series), Ufotable's Unlimited Blade Works TV series (there's a DEEN Unlimited Blade Works movie, but it's super rushed, obviously), and then the Heaven's Feel movies.

Most of the rest are standalone side stories/spinoffs that you can probably jump into without a problem after some basic exposure with the franchise.

Lord El-Melloi II Case Files (novel, has anime) takes place after Zero and follows one of the surviving characters from that.
Strange Fake (novel), Prototype Fragments (novel), and Apocrypha (novel, has anime) are completely standalone.

As for the non-VN games, you have the Extra series that I think goes: Extra (PSP) > Extra CCC (PSP) > Extella (PS4, Vita, Switch) > Extella Link (PS4, Vita, Switch). There's also the Extra Last Encore anime series that uses the same setting and characters but is actually standalone.

The Grand Order phone game is standalone... I think. But it does have crossovers and references to other series from time to time. It's got some animes and upcoming movies for the more important in-game story arcs, but I haven't dabbled in them yet.

These are what I could remember off the top of my head, anyway. There are a ton of other stuff that I haven't tried yet.

Check Kingdom out! Its a great series about old samurai war battle japan era filled with cool army battles and badass generals either winning with tactics or brute strength

It's China. Warring States China.

And yeah, I've heard that the adaptation work isn't all that good in the anime's second season. Haven't seen any complaints in particular for the ongoing season 3 though.

Isn't this that one show where they purposely made the first five minutes of the first episode really fucked up incest shit as a pleb filter and then handwaved it away for comedy because the rest of the show was actually tame by comparison? I remember seeing something about that...

It's just about a minute and a half, actually.

Funnily enough, the series's got nothing to do with incest at all aside from a couple of characters writing incest novels or manga. It's a pretty good SoL-drama and throws jabs at the light novel industry here and there.

Gotta catch up on this season's stuff first since I'm seeing a few interesting ones, but here's what I'm interested in for spring:

Oregairu 3
Tower of God
Appare-Ranman!
Digimon Adventure
Sakura Wars
Wave, Listen to Me!
Hachi-nan (more for the theme song, really)
Violet Evergarden Movie (if the Thailand screening isn't delayed, but probably will)

So that's interesting... apparently the author of Black Clover's manga built in a failsafe for when the anime started catching up to the manga.

In the manga, there was a six-month timeskip where the cast basically all went off on their own and trained, getting a bunch of new skills in the process, and none of that was ever shown. The next main arc just immediately started and didn't show any of what happened during that training. But the anime is going to show all of it in a big training arc, and despite it obviously being a way to stall for time and keep the manga ahead of the anime story-wise, technically it's anime-original content that's still canon to the manga because it's being done under the supervision of the author.

I would rather the anime have just taken a year off to give the staff some time to rest, but if the show absolutely must continue without stopping, then this is honestly the best option. They could have gone with really meaningless filler like Naruto Shippuden, or they could have cobbled together an anime-original early ending that might have ended up being terrible like Soul Eater. But this? This could work.

Hmm, this could work, yeah.

I'd actually prefer that they adapted the Knights and Yuno novels (since the Bulls novel is too far back at this point) but this does sound pretty nice too.

Right, I remember that. It was because of a joke I made about Let's Go being an isekai because Pikachu/Eevee takes you into a TV in the intro cutscene. PMD is one of my favorite things that came out of Pokemon, that's for sure. It actually gives personality to a chunk of the franchise's huge roster of Pokemon and have them be in the highlight, wherea the mainline games for the most part were more focused on human characters with a few key Pokemon here and there.

And when it comes to isekai, I'd say they've been a thing for quite a long time, but it's the (relatively) recent Narou saturation that associated the setting with cheap power fantasy.

I never got very far in BN1-5, though I've tried all of them at some point. I was more into its anime and manga adaptations, which were pretty big in Thailand back in the day.

Did complete BN6 though. Really liked the setting and characters, especially Colonel and Iris, but it did feel strange that it takes place in a new town with mostly new chars for a good part of it. That and a couple of villains I remembered seeing in the anime apparently having turned "good" by that point and becoming your teachers (guess that's what I get for not going through the older games).

Because Keiichi Sigsawa, the author of the light novels, really liked the GGO world/concept and he wanted to use it in his work. He's also a huge gun nerd (his pen name is even derived from the name of a real life firearms manufacturer, SIG Sauer) and already showed some of that firearms knowledge a few times in the Kino's Journey series that he wrote previously.

On top of that, he's also written an Indiana Jones-esque adventure series collectively called The Story of One Continent with a quite a bit of gun action, and then there's Gakuen Kino, "magical girl" Kino's Journey in high school with tons of gun fanservice.

I hate SAO so I have never watched anything after season 1.

I realize Gun Gale Online kinda makes fun of SAO, but why be part of that universe?

It's actually more like SAO (the in-story game) is made fun of by pretty much everyone after a certain point due to its in-universe history, and even by the SAO players themselves in the SAO Progressive series because of how exploitable the gameplay mechanics were.

Sigsawa's GGO series focus mostly (entirely?) on the people who didn't go through SAO in its original form, so you're basically getting an "outsider" perspective on the incident when it gets brought up.

And yeah, it's pretty much because Sigsawa liked the setting. His involvement pretty much began when he assisted with the gun action in the GGO arc of SAO2 anime.

Just gonna ask here since i guess it more on topic and i really don't care about that other topic but, what is gunslinger girls and why is girl's frontline getting a collab of an early 2000's anime

It's an old drama manga about brainwashed cyborg child soldiers working for the Italian government. The anime was pretty well done with a nice OST.

As for why it's getting a collab, I have no idea.
