Who is everyone's favorite voice actor?

For women, Yuuki Aoi, particularly as Madoka in Madoka Magica, Kino in Kino's Journey 2017, Yuuki in SAO, and Natsume in Yokai Watch 4.
For men, Ono Daisuke as Koizumi in Haruhi and Jotaro in JoJo.

Also got some off the top of my head that I want to mention:

Kugimiya Rie as Shana in Shakugan no Shana
Kamishiraishi Mone as Mitsuha in Your Name
Takeuchi Shunsuke as Shogo in Caligula
Sugita Tomokazu as Gintoki in Gintama and Ikki in Saint Seiya Omega
Matsuoka Yoshitsugu as Seil in Phantasy Star Nova
Suda Masaki as Norimichi in Uchiage Hanabi.

I heard there's a movie called Weathering with you. Anyone heard of it?

Ive watched it. Looked super beautiful in the theater, especially with all the weather effects and scenery shots. Story leans on the heavy drama side with a lot of intense moments about halfway in, and the insert songs lyrics go super well with their respective scenes.

Well, I was referring mostly to the anime's adaptation work. I like Arifureta's novel just fine from the get go (though I still haven't started volume 5), while Death March seems to take half a dozen volumes before things start happening, and I never made it past volume 2.

Death March's adaptation was fine, I guess. It's a straightforward adaptation that's missing tons of background info (the game-y stuff and world building) but is coherent enough. Average visuals and animations, and I guess pretty nice music. So it's pretty much just a slightly below-average light novel adaptation.

Arifureta, on the other hand... I'd say it's an incoherent mess, but maybe an anime-only watcher would see it differently. It's got five episodes covering the first book (420 pages) but is still missing about a quarter of important scenes, two episodes for volume 2 (380 pages), and laughably bad monster CG even for anime standards. With all the missing stuff that seem to build toward later volumes (according to a friend who's pretty obsessed with the series), I can't imagine season 2 being very coherent either. Pretty much the only redeeming qualities of the adaptation is the music and pretty nice visuals when there's no monster around.

Hey, Death March anime may be bad, but I wouldn't put it below Arifureta anime, all things considered...

Didn't watch much, so I might as well rank everything I've completed.
And If Shana 3 ends nicely I'll probably put it in the same spot as Granbelm.

14) Arifureta
----big score gap----
13) Takagi-san 2
12) Cautious Hero
11) Yokai Watch!
10) Doraemon Movie 39
9) Dumbbells
8) Yokai Watch Shadowside
8+) Shana Movie (older anime)
7) Yokai Watch Forever Friends
6) Dororo
5) Violet Evergarden Side Story
4) Granbelm
4+) Koe no Katachi (older anime)
3) Hello World
2) Boogiepop
1) Weathering With You

And a live action ranking for shits and giggles:

4) Deathflix
3) Nisekoi
2) Haganai

Ive only seen clips of Africa Salaryman, but it does look fun.
The ED theme song is one of my favorites this season, too.

First anime:
Doraemon, probably. That series was everywhere when I was little.
First anime I actively followed on TV was Saint Seiya though, but even then just because it aired right before Kamen Rider.

First anime watched fully:
The King of Braves GaoGaiGar. Super hype and intense mecha show. I remember hunting down all the CDs over a few months, since the TV broadcast was cut short.

First fansubbed anime:
They Are My Noble Masters. Butler comedy with tons of fanservice. It's an adaptation of a VN and covered only up to the end of the common route, so it cut off before any romance could develop much. Still gave a decent conclusion to the MC's character arc though, so that's something.

First waifu:
Kaname Madoka. Still my only waifu.

First manga:
Doraemon, more or less because my family wouldn't let me near any other manga up until middle school.
Aside from that, Home Tutor Hitman Reborn. Was super popular over here when I was in middle school. It's a Shonen Jump comedy series about super-powered "mafia" that got super serious as it went on. The middle arcs were kinda weak but had lots of cool characters, which made the DS fighting games covering those arcs the better ones of the bunch. Then the very last arc ended up being the funniest while also being the most serious. It's weird.

First LN:
Shakugan no Shana. Unfortunately the publisher released only up to volume 14 before they went under, and I never continued it since. Anime season 3 supposedly covers the rest of the series fairly well and I've been watching that on and off, but I'm thinking about getting the rest of the LNs some time soon.

The LNs are also fairly short being only like 60 pages long.

interesting, don't think I've ever seen LNs near that short before. This kinda makes me want to read the LNs instead knowing it's actually reasonable to ever finish them

Dunno if the fan translation has a lower page count (the pdfs sometimes do b/c of small font size), but the LNs are actually about 200 pages each with 5 volumes for the first series. In English 3 volumes are out so far with volume 4 coming later this month.

The topic of Maruyama's tweet is about the light novel, so the anime isn't in the picture here.

And the light novel is definitely affordable, Japanese of English. Aside from some rare extra volumes that might cost a lot but aren't important.

I mightve already brought this up before, but Ive had a bone to pick with them since I read their Kinos Journey 2017 episode reviews where they were making Kino out to be some kind of transgender symbol and the stories to be Sigsawas political statements, which is as far off the mark as it gets. Would have been hilarious if they were joking, but it didnt seem like they were.

Personally think he's being sarcastic. His message sounds far from serious and he likes to mess around on Twitter all the time.

He is, they make jackshit from foreign countries so he really doesn't give a flying fuck about english readers having fan translations for something he's making next to nothing off of over in the west.

Probably doesn't get royalties either.

Same goes for anime.

Also I'm pretty sure he already knew about the fan translation to some degree when he addressed the official translation's terminology choices (official's King of Darkness vs fan-TL's Sorcerer King) and said that the former is closer to what he meant originally.

Lol what's that from?

Yokai Watch Forever Friends.
Cuts a quite a bit from the movie since it's a one-shot manga, but the story is generally the same.
