Melee started off slow. It was much safer to fire a pistol in the beginning. But now it's easy to just run around chopping stuff up. I didn't even spend my points. Just a matter of raw levels and gear.

78 points...how the fuck was the VA clip round the one I did well on? The rest of this was just brutal for me. Even when I knew it, I couldn't claim points on it, like Moon over the Castle.

If we tried a two-phase system, rather than locks, maybe we'd count off the number of people who supported X songs and give them a free song in. Let the top (256-X) songs into the bracket, and then each person gets their highest song that didn't make the cut.

Of course, this raises the question of "Just how different will that be from simply taking the top 256?" since most of those would be part of the slots that were cut to give everyone a guaranteed slot.

A few more minutes to midnight were not enough, and maybe even a thousand suns wouldn't have put Linkin Park over the top. FWIW, I was not terribly into the game this time last week. I was stumbling over the controls and angry over the middle mouse button crap, but then the story and the gameplay both picked up, and I'm now at like 25 hours played.

I don't know what mostly any song is about. I'm fairly incapable of listening to lyrics unless I've heard the song dozens of times. As such, the "woo woo" part of Sympathy of the Devil is kinda what I know it for, and the rest of the song is a big fat whatever.

Okay, found time for the gym today. I'm pretty sure I misremembered slightly, and it's more like 400 on the leg press, because I did four plates today and that was tough. I could have maybe added a little more if I was really trying to a one-rep max, but I also know that wasn't what I was doing for the times I'm thinking back to.

So 4:1. Incidentally my bench today was 125, and I just barely got out rep #3.

For people who are heavy, it's very often their legs.

I am not especially heavy, however my answer is still legs. I've just always had really poor upper body strength. When I started in the gym, I would really struggle just to bench anything at all. 95 is a considerable challenge. By contrast, on the inclined leg press, I have no issue putting four plates on each side, which is close to 500 pounds. Yes, your legs are supposed to be inherently stronger and that's an exercise that inherently leads to much larger numbers, but not by a 5:1 margin.

Funny story.

In Pennsylvania, they used to do the registration stickers one year as MM YY and then the next year they'd do them as YY MM. I have no idea why. But I didn't know this.

So my parents moved my grandfather into a home and basically gave me one of the cars they inherited as a result. Old car. Nothing anyone would pay any attention to. One day my dad asked me when the last time it'd been inspected was. I shrugged and looked at the sticker. It said 06 08. I didn't think anything of this because it was the first half of 2008. Turns out it was due to be inspected in August 2006.
