I am sorry to say that we are going to turn off access to the forum on 10th September 2021.
The forum has been a long-standing part of Eurogamer, and at its peak welcomed thousands of active contributors each day.

Sadly, times change and the way people communicate also has changed.
Traditional forums are no longer a popular place for people to come together to talk, and have been replaced in popularity with more modern community platforms like Discord, Twitter, and Twitch.
Due to this, our forum community has declined over the years to the point where there are only a handful of people left actively using the forum.

What would an app give you that viewing the site in a mobile browser doesnt? The site runs extremely well in a mobile browser.

Whats all this fuss about hornyposting? Is this a new moddable infraction?

Im not in business marketing but any draw this site has these days is based solely on the guides/walkthroughs. They simply dont need the message boards for that so if they destroy them its irrelevant.

Just because a small group of people have an emotional attachment to this place because they started coming here as kids or because its one of the only places they found some type of social structure and acceptance means fuck all to them.

but with vibes based moderation pretty much every user who is a persistent shitbird has been banned by now, while also not having an oppressive set of rules

I'm going to be doing a full database export which will take about 2 hours tonight. Normally I would do these exports via some console command from my PC but since it will take 2 hours I'm going to instead do it straight from the Linux VM server that way if anything happens to my computer locally the backup will still run on the Linux VM. Gonna be fun.

but yes, objectively, the new site is almost jarringly far left. you would get banned within two hours.
