The point regarding cars is that the region it's manufactured in has no impact on whether a car is Japanese or American.

Though admittedly things aren't quite as clear as more niche levels. Does a Bugatti count as an Italian car? But I'm not particularly attached to the label anyway.

This I think is the far better way to handle things. WRPG / JRPG are vague and poorly descriptive. You have no way of knowing if a game is single character/party, turn based/action, or sandbox/theme park just from reading those labels. You can mix and match all three of those things and still somehow end up with a game that could be called either WRPG or JRPG

It's referring to a style of RPG that was created / popularized in Japan. Think of it like bread. If a bake French Bread in America, it doesn't suddenly become American Bread. It may be Made-In-America bread but it's still French Bread. No one even thinks twice about this.

This isn't even specific to bread or even food. Toyota has a factory in Kentucky. It's still a Japanese car, it's just made in America.

Video games are the only thing where there's a weird disagreement over it and I don't really get it.

I'd like to blame WoW for this. This game was the catalyst for when level design became about providing a curated experience as opposed to an interactive experience. Then a few years later Uncharted came out and cranked it up to 11 giving us this whole concept of "movie games" and I don't mean FMVs.

At some point we just lost track of what we were doing. A level was just going from point A to B and had no other meaning or purpose. It was filler for the "between levels" parts which is where all the interesting things happened, you just had no control over any of it.

I haven't really liked chatrooms since the early 2000s. They feel kinda useless unless you can actively pay attention to them and I can't do that. I live a life of instant gratification monkey distractions. As soon as I do one thing I start doing something else. My average day is spent mostly in front of 2 computers and 2 phones.

I was saying that in the short term it would be beneficial for here, my concern is more long term it is a death sentence for CE.

It was rare but occasionally we would get new users coming here joining the community who weren't just troll alts, that's not going to happen any more.

It's not necessarily new users that I'm concerned about, though we had a few colorful ones in recent history. There are old users that occasionally revisit and now they won't be able to.

Those questions are typical in a criminal trial? I did jury duty on a civil trial once and only got asked like 3 questions

For extremely high profile cases this is normal. The list was probably similar for the Derek Chauvin trial.

I read that for many potential jurors their old social media posts were being brought up as reasons to disqualify them. It's a reminder that if you're going to post something on social media make sure it's something you wouldn't be embarrassed to have read aloud in a courtroom years later.

I read through them and I think I'd probably get rejected even if I lied about a few answers. #39 must eliminate a lot of people these days.

#39 seems easy, especially when you are hearing the judge say he wants to start on Monday.

#37 would be a hard one for me I don't know if it's enough to disqualify me though. I'd probably add "regardless of my opinion, if the contributed amount was legal, I'd consider it as such."

Honestly not sure. NYT Said average 5-7 minutes per juror so I'm guessing they have it printed out in front of them and they are asked verbally but they already know the answer because they read the question before it was asked.

NYT published a list of the questionnaire being administered to the jurors. This is the initial phase questions. Any who pass this part get more personal interviews.

I'm assuming that 96 is the maximum number of potential jurors they can cram into that courtroom.

With allegedly 500 people called up for jury duty this can take a while.

From what I understand 96 is the pool, period. The other people only get called if they can't pick a jury out of the 96 they already have.
