You might argue OoT but Body Harvest made by DMA 'later Rockstar Games' beat Zelda to the punch) CoD 4 (all the FPS started to copy this and Halo was no longer the big thing) --- |

Radio X kind of fills the 90s rock vibe. But I think a lot of it came down to licensing issues with artist. If they went back and made a 90s GTA it would probably be more on point with the music given the nature of licensed music in video games now. Although growing up in California at the same time as GTA:SA I did get nostalgic for what it did, and how everything is portrayed. Area 53 with Marvin Trill (Coast 2 Coast AM in GTA:SA) is really kino. --- |
