I think narratives are the truest definition of luxury items and should be done last if done at all. I don't think they add all that much-- random happenings in the natural progression of the game world are usually enough for me.

It loses a lot of charm that way because a lot of the appeal of the Suikoden series is that the cast is so large and everyone has their pet characters. At that point you might as well just make the 6 you're saying to put on the merc as individual ones.

Viktor as an assist seems too weak I think in that you're giving them a decent 2/week for nothing. I like the idea of being able to roster an ability immune Viktor in the slot of the swordsman though.

Alternatively just make the Star Dragon Sword user gain some ability protection of some sort, on upgrade it becomes "you become Viktor"

Basically what I'm saying is I like the merc played honestly but I just don't like the idea of throwing abilities at the SDS wielder to eliminate them so solving that fixes the merc (well, that problem with the merc)

I think Neclord had some issues as a merc but I don't think he was too strong for a 3/week unless you had no swordsmen on your team.

Whether that was too easy a condition to attain is a question. Maybe make it so you can replace the merc who has the sword with an immune to abilities Viktor if you want to or something.

I think you use Tir, Riou, Georg, Pesmerga, Luc... and like... Sierra maybe?

There are probably some overpowered characters I'm forgetting though. I feel like 95% of the cast are traps though, which is unfortunate.

Riou's Bright Shield has no instant death. Tir's Soul Eater is the one that has 2/4 instant death moves. Or perhaps Jowy's Black Sword is what you're thinking of which has 1/4 instant deaths on it.

I dig the idea of a stars of destiny merc in any case. Thing is you have such an imbalance in the power levels of the stars that it's actually a trap merc since I'm pretty sure you can actually solve the right 6 to pick most of the time.

Meh went with Mog's. Being a specific use burst that could potentially help me now is nice. Also it's not in an AA Selection. Also despite it being from a realm I draw on often on a character I use often it's not on any banners I have interest in anytime in the next 6 months.

Now I'm sure I'm going to 100 gem it tomorrow.

So my options for the BSB select are:

Mog BSB - Could give my healing/slot capacity the boost it needs to survive Wrexsoul long enough for my exceptional FFVI damage to shred him in ???, and I don't plan on drawing on other banners with this on it any time soon
Cloud BSB2 - I have no enwind for Cloud but do have his wind dualcast and USB1, so this would make Cloud a lot stronger. But this is also an AA selection for #8 so I can probably wait till I need it.
Vanille BSB - I like Vanille and this seems like one of the strongest BSBs, and my FFXIII healing could use a shot in the arm, but also in AA #6
Healing BSB for neglected realm like FFXII - Cause why not

Kinda leaning Mog BSB just cause it may actually help here. But if it doesn't I'm not sure how often I'd use it in normal situations. I do use Mog a lot though. I guess it's Hastega with a great healing command if nothing else, which may be useful despite having his Ultra 1.

That's all I had to survive too but I was using Setzer BSB and Mog's dances + heal chase so that helped I guess.

Surviving in ??? is proving to be much tougher though. Maybe with some Mog chase luck early there's a chance though

Easy sub 30 of Wrexsoul on 280 with Mog Edgar Setzer Sabin Relm first try.

Actually just let the sleep hit and did it with Mog and Relm asleep. Need to look up the gimmick behind that (or just use Enkidu I guess). Going to actually try DWhale once or twice on this one. Maybe I can actually knock off 50%.

I have pretty decent damage output in FF7 and needed to kill the tentacles in the 280 (22s kill btw) to not be killed by their added damage. In 240 I just ignored them.

If you have decent healing you may be able to get by without messing with them if you have a lot of damage.

Yuna I don't really think so. She's received plenty of things since getting her one Holy/Wind Ultra, hasn't ever gone back. Honestly would see her more likely to go down the path of Wind harder if they were to type her just because Wind has less mages than Holy. But I honestly don't really see her branching out of the healer role much. Not enough to be better than Rydia who has it as her distant third element in any case. (For the record Rydia as a holy mage isn't strictly theorycraft I did use her in my sub 30 shadow dragon team)

And yeah I definitely wouldn't count Yuna. I'd sooner count Rydia than Yuna due to a bunch of her stuff being Water/Holy/Earth typed and having better summon damage tools than Yuna.

Fusoya is borderline too just because he doesn't really have enough tools of any element to really feel typed (or anything) yet. He has a burst big deal. At least Raines's record dive references holy and he has a Holy/Dark Ultra.

Alright Tom got Frightmare, Hallowicked, Hydra (may want to give him a Leslie Butterscotch alter ego or make Hydra the alter ego), Crossbones, and Ultramantis Black statted by cross referencing memory and 3 real world databases

Keep in mind I actually haven't seen anything from Hydra at all unless he was a prop in a Ultramantis Black promo I've seen and have only seen one Crossbones match IIRC. Other 3 I feel a bit more confident in as I actually remember them alright but yeah I'm not exactly well experienced with CHIKARA.

The two of the three databases I determined had any clue about anything CHIKARA were fairly consistent so it's probably okay anyway. If Maniac (or CPU? You watch, right?) have any input to provide feel free to override.
