I'll believe Chris has given up being a narcissist when he pegs his town play at around 60-70 or so.

Whats yours???

I dunno like 80 or something.

Good at finding scum (better than Chris based on what I've seen, which as said may be skewed!) and good at backing it up with stuff that isn't feeling based, which gives more information for town to use because how town/scum react to actual presented evidence tends to give a lot more info than how they react to PASSION I think, as it tends to be harder to fake a reaction to that. Pretty reliably active too, which is half the battle as is.

Why I don't get a 98 either is because 1. I'm somewhat convincing, convincing enough for good pressure on a guy that made slips, but if scum are bold enough to fight me on scum lynches it's going to be up in the air. I can't really avoid the two train end of day lynch situation even if I know the scum is a slam dunk. 2. I have trouble distinguishing bad play from slips-- which is a big problem on this board in particular.

To speak to the narcissist in me, my independent play might be 98. The whole "somewhat convincing but not quite convincing enough" means that when I support mislynches as an independent it doesn't come off as as suspicious as it would were I better at that, and because I usually support with evidence from posts people tend to believe my suspicions as legitimate because well it's backed up pretty well. And if I'm one with killing power being reasonably good at finding scum means I can just kill suspicious folk that I can't find an easy way to convince the town on. I think to this day I'm the only SK win on b8 that wasn't with a grossly overpowered SK.

I don't get this benefit with scum because I'm fairly bad at faking this and it's hard to ignore scumslips from scumbuddies. Which is why as you'd expect I killed it as Usurper too, but all things considered my scum play is probably like a 50 or something as I'll become pretty obvscum if the game goes late and the town hasn't idled out (which uh, happens more often than not on this board so I've won a decent amount of games as scum, but you know, I don't feel good about it)

Yeah. Day 1s are everyone's worst day by far that's why I say I might be being unfair.

I do think the flaw of "if you're wrong (or even right), what information can we get out of it in later days" is a big issue though. It's probably the biggest reason why Ulti is pretty much a dumpster tier town player from the games I've watched. Like if you basically give everyone a super easy lynch road if they wanna take it, right or wrong, then the day is basically wasted on the information end. Course I think you've realized that and tried to play a bit more passively recently, but a passive version of your play still potentially has that issue if someone else doesn't cover for you. (I bring up Ulti specifically because his town play seems like the worst possible version of what yours would be)

And that aspect might also be checked by towns not filled with gelatin though so yeah I might be being doubly unfair here.

I guess what I'm saying is there are a lot of aspects of town play in mafia and I think you've got some weaknesses on the "generating useful information for town to use" end which the ideal 98/100 town player would not (in a shocking twist that is not me, but I do think I beat you in this particular aspect of town play)

Well not really. I probably wouldn't say you're top 10 town on the board actually (need a list though)-- still above average and all due to activity and being able to spur the town into doing stuff very well, but I think you're wrong about the statistically average amount of times with your reads, which is very dangerous with your playstyle as the amount of information to be obtained from a mislynch driven by you is dubious.

Granted I don't see you survive past early game very often as town so it may be somewhat unfair since I mean who can really make good reads in the first few days very reliably, but there are ways to gather information that don't involve ramming a dude with a hot poker.

Hell yeah got Lancina

+ATK/-RES too, which seems like one of the best to get (though +SPD looks a bit better)

Now I'm not sure who I want for the freebie. I could get another Lucina to +1/skill inherit Drive Speed, Ike to skill inherit Steady Breath/to use, or a Lyn so I can give Attack Smoke to someone else with my crappy nature one and still have one to use.

I'd be more upset Oboro was bad if there wasn't already an abundance of good characters to use that I like and more than I can slot anyway.

Still hoping some of the weaker characters get buffs at some point-- even if you have to work for them in some way. Some sorta bonus skills only available to certain units or something.

I can't really blame them for the lack of support conversations. There are too many possible pairs for it to be very feasible.

I would've limited the support options a bit to provide conversations. Could've been a fun balancing tool too. Make certain weaker characters have supports with stronger characters, make em more usable.

I still think rate up is a lie, particularly for 3s. I got SO MANY 3*s from the Gil banner and none were Medea.

Hell I got a 2 5*s and they were both Jeanne too. At least I got two Atalanta so something panned out but yeah the 3* rate up has to be negligible

Whether it's a joke shouldn't be (and spoilers, isn't-- don't you recall that time that like 80 people got purg'd for making jokes about that girl who burnt in a dumpster because one of the mods knew her or something) a determining factor. Whether it's offensive should be. If I'm the topic of the joke and mark it as such, that should remove that question.

I feel like when I'm the one marking the damn post you should be able to toss out the "well herp it's a joke" defense.

And I don't care if people have admitted to such uncivilized behaviors. If someone said in jest that I willingly took up the moniker of "dick sledge" I would consider that offensive as well.

Also this joke is gross and directly made at my expense and I marked it seriously weeks ago because it was an eyesore. No one cares though, even when the guy who is being harassed marked it, because greengravy289 does not have mod frequent flier miles or whatever.

I mean I obviously don't even care that much but I sorta just wanted to see if I could get anything I marked actually moderated. And the answer to that seems to be no. Maybe I'm moderation blacklisted or something.

Yeah that doesn't surprise me. Most every time I see a moderated post it's pretty much an easy target. I've seen Timjab for example purg'd for the most borderline stuff that I probably couldn't get moderated were I to post it, even at a no karma loss level, if I wanted to. It's either the mods themselves having vendettas, certain mark happy people having "mod pockets," or mods deciding their verdict entirely based off of moderation STATZ. None of these are good and I don't really think any of the proposed changes are going to affect that either.

I want to make it clear though that I feel the board as a whole is probably under-moderated, not over. It's just certain people who are over-moderated, while on the other side being super lenient with everyone else.

Moderation is a problem in that it's never done except to the known trolls (or "trolls" with some people)

I've marked several spoilers without warning and it's never actually resulted in a moderation. Mod system is basically just to dick over people the mods don't like at this point.

Yeah I'm aware people have terrible Riders. I find myself wanting to do the same thing and often being unable because they've got like level 1 Boudica in the slot or something. I think Tom's Marie Antoinette is like the best one I see with any regularity that isn't yours.

Somewhat related note I finally sent some friend requests out to people in the opening post who still play with any regularity. Will probably do this a time or two more. (my friends list is close to full so I don't want to overflow nor do I want to kick out my more active randoms)
