So let me get this straight

They make a skin called "mythic Cassiopeia" and she's not Medusa based but instead just Cassiopeia with a toga.

Why.

That just means his clashing kit plays to the strengths of a specific teamcomp. That doesn't really mean the champ on his own makes sense, though. There are ways to give him a poke that would work, mind you, but I don't think that one was a good execution of it. There's also the fact that the sapling itself has obnoxious "anti-fun" mechanics (in Riot game design terms)

As a not very well thought out example you could give Ashe a melee range stun instead of hawkshot and she'd work better on a lot of comps but that doesn't mean it wouldn't clash with her kit.

I'd vote Maokai I think

Which is funny considering he has no votes

His sapling ability just clashes with the kit completely and is kinda poorly designed for a few reasons.

Maybe Soraka though

Funny thing about that Alpha 2 write-up-- my Alpha 3 write-up would be pretty similar in that most of the appeal of Alpha 3 is in single player to me. The convoluted plot is awesome and superior to Alpha 2.

Bonus Question: What is your favorite Tales game?

Only played Symphonia-- which is strange cause I love Symphonia to death and own Abyss and Vesperia.

Also Zelos > Lloyd > Sheena >> Kratos > Raine > Regal >> Genis > Colette > Presea while we're at this.

Bonus Question: So what do YOU think of FFVII’s famous end of disc one spoiler? Do you like it? Hate it? Feel free to give your overall opinions of this moment!

Never cared for it. Disliking the character involved probably didn't help, but the whole thing being so... slow motion didn't help it either. It felt almost like a suicide-- I realize that's kinda intended now but it didn't help the moment of the time.

Bonus Question: Who is your favorite video game villain?

Vergil from DMC3-- but a lot of that is just "this guy is cool and happens to be a villain." If we're going mainly on villainous exploits cred it's probably Seymour Guado or Luca Blight.

Can't really answer the others. Either cause not enough comes to mind for graphics, or too little comes to mind for reconciliation.

It's not entitled, it's realistic. If my cash flow in > yours, you need to offer me more money for me to think it's worth my time. Simple math here. Dude who makes $7.25 an hour is making like $1000 a month. Dude who makes double that is making... around double that. $20 a month for four sermons is worth more proportionally to the guy who makes less-- he's gaining 2% income, the other guy is gaining one. Take it to the extreme-- celebrities charge like tens of thousands of dollars simply to appear for things, which is probably less work than sitting through a sermon. Why? Because if you paid them $5 they'd gain like... 0.00005% of their income. It's not a matter of the person being "better" at sitting through church or anything like that, it's all about relative gain here.

But hey if a point comes where you're making $40 an hour working 60 hours a week, and you still think that the $5 for your hour is a worthy venture, by all means, be a fool.

I'm assuming you guys who don't understand this have poorly paying jobs, are minors, or have never been swamped by work to the extent that you wish you had LESS hours not more. Take that free time where you can get it cause you'll wish you had it later.

$5 for an hour of my time is just... never going to be worth the money for me unless I'm really hurting for money. And unless you're scraping by to make ends meet, it shouldn't be for you either. It's not about "well I should get minimum wage" it's about "my time is worth a hell of a lot more than minimum wage because I make a hell of a lot more than that, so I know how much of my time should be used to earn a paltry $5 if I want money"

Yeah if times were especially hard I'd take this deal, I guess, but they're not.

And honestly? With many jobs I'd rather be working than listening to a boring sermon anyway. A lot of jobs are actually kinda interesting and aren't super stressful most of the time.

Yeah but is that going to magically disappear if you start going to church?

Does that one hour of nothing potentially interfere with your scheduling?

I'm just saying I value having that hour free more than I value a cup of starbucks. Even if I'm not going to be doing something every hour of every day. (Though for what it's worth I actually am doing something most all the time-- doesn't matter if it's productive it's more useful than listening to a sermon I don't want to hear)

Free time isn't created equal, no. If I make more money than you working, my free time is worth more than yours, because I use that to re-energize/re-motivate my work time, which is more valuable than your work time, monetarily speaking. Also uh, certain fields/jobs let you be much more creative with your work schedules-- once you're out of the service industry work shifts aren't necessarily always "clock in for 8 hours clock out." It's often more like "here's a task, do it, and put the hours you worked while doing it." I absolutely could be working for that one hour on whatever project I happen to be working on for work. Not to say I necessarily would, but the fact that I could is enough.

I'm just saying if I make $30 an hour doing my job I'm not going to let you waste an hour of my time sitting around doing nothing for a meager $4. The gain just isn't significant enough relative to my income to forfeit an hour of my time. And realistically, with travel on either side and it disrupting planning, it's much more than that.

Well I agree with all your defenses of Auron. Don't care that he didn't reveal everything and don't care that he's kinda cliche, because I always say what you said in the write-up there. Cliches are cliches for a reason, and there's nothing wrong with a well executed cliche.

That being said, I've never been super huge on him. Not cause I have any particular problems with him just cause... eh. He's not as badass as people think he is. He breaks his stoicness too much to be a stone cold badass, but is too stoic to be that interesting. I know you were saying his rare moments of compassion and stuff make the character appealing to you-- probably make him less so to me. If you go the strong silent type (a type I'm iffy on in the first place) you really gotta go all in with it (see Sol Badguy), generally, to sell me. Or if you're going to break your stone cold appearance, you've gotta do it more than just a little like Auron does (see Vash the Stampede). Least that's how I see it.

Bonus Question: Who is your favorite Final Fantasy X character?

I'll do you one better, cause everyone loves inequalities. (also since you probably know my top 1, maybe 1-3, anyway)

Tidus > Seymour > Rikku >> Wakka > Jecht > Auron > Yuna (> Leblanc lol) >> Lulu >> Kimahri

Yeah. My problem is that a lot of endings that are presented as bittersweet are actually tragic, by your definition. Mostly cause it's usually a "the main and/or everyone they love are completely screwed but hey the world didn't die. LOOK HOW HAPPY IT IS." type of scenario.

That's why I dislike the ending type. I don't like it when a story tells me how to feel when it's completely at odds with how I feel about it.

Yeah I guess I misread the meaning of "giving up on it" in the first post... I thought it meant like... giving up on it as a concept or something. *shrug* Don't ask me!

Anyway I can completely believe your story on normal with previous experience and 2 hours of watching, since a lot of the problem with the guy is knowing his dirty tricks. I believe people as a rule if their claim is feasible to me and yours crosses into feasible now that I've pressed you for more details.

Now let's hug it out

No. Actually let's not. But we can pretend we did. Don't say we legit did, though. This is only pretend, after all.

Well it's nothing personal for what that's worth. I disbelieve the claim here, not the person! Very few people on this board I'd believe that story from. Would need a nice tidy resume of Ninja Gaiden Blacks and Devil May Cry 3s and such at high difficulties under your belt for me to buy enough inate talent to pull that off. Especially on hard, which you seem to be implying you did it on. I mean I'm not saying it's a super hard boss fight but I'd imagine just getting the hang of the controls would cost you a life or two alone--

Though you seem to backtracking (at least, the feeling I got from your original post was you just picked it up completely green as can be and killed him in 3 tries) and/or clarifying a bit to say you had some previous experience with the game now so now I'm more inclined to believe you. I'm still skeptical if you say it was on hard given the total lack of forgiveness that difficulty has in KH1 but I won't outright call you a liar anymore, I suppose. Previous experience with how the game works + watching attack patterns for 2 hours is feasible, at least, if you have skill.

Well it depends what you mean by bittersweet, I suppose. I don't mind good endings with "cost," that's fine. I do mind endings where the narration is trying to imply "this is a good outcome" while the result gives you nothing of the such and it'd be a bad ending if not for the cheerful music playing in the background or upbeat narration accompanying it.

I just find it's a very hard ending type to write while making it feel natural, and most things that try fail miserably. In concept it's not that bad but video games in particular I'd be especially skeptical of them having the talent to pull it off in a satisfying way.

Uhhh, yes, you should if your time is worth more than minimum wage. Unless you'd just be sitting around doing nothing normally too. The main thing that has me skeptical of that is whether they're going to make it feel like a wrestling show, or make it feel like a show about wrestling. I don't even mean that I think they're going to like, have "shoots" and stuff and treat the business like a business with excess backstage crap. I just mean that even if it takes the approach that the show itself is "real" is it going to feel like a wrestling show? Even beyond the basic crowd stuff, is the format going to be closer to a wrestling show or a drama with wrestling matches thrown in.

Like an an example:

Wrestling show starts with guys having a dispute backstage, authority figure making match (or the match being booked/hyped beforehand if you don't want an authority), that's the main event, then the guys take shots at each other over the course of the show, and the match happens.
Drama show with wrestling starts with guys having having a dispute backstage, constantly taking shots at each other over the course of the show, and then they build the rivalry, and then towards the end of the show after some pushing from their friends they head to the ring to resolve this LIKE MEN and the match finishes up the episode.

Like one feels like a story with wrestling as the way for resolution, whereas the other one legit is structured like a wrestling show. I'm sure there are better ways to describe this and the second example could theoretically happen on a wrestling show but uh... I think you guys know what I mean?

They're trying to set up doubt and confusion about what she'll do as Special Guest Ref.

I mean on the grand scheme of things. Is the entire payout of this storyline "AJ is a special guest ref with a random element to add to the match?"

Like what are they building to? It's like the various Johnny Ace storylines where it seemed to be about building him up more than about the other guys. The net result of this seems to make AJ relevant, but that's not a great thing to use your main event scene on for two months unless she's going to take a major role as a main event manager soon, which would actually be pretty cool to be fair. But I have my doubts that's the point!

I'm okay with the protag acting in a way I wouldn't if the protag is well defined as a character and consistent, and stuff that "could go either way" isn't patently opposite of what I want him to do.

Like Lloyd Irving being naive and stupid is cool with me because he's got strong characterization throughout the game.
But a guy like Crono who's all but a blank slate, or even a guy with more but still not that much like Bartz from FFV? Yeah it's annoying. And of course if a character does something that I not only dislike but also comes off as totally inconsistent like Squall from FFVIII that's even worse.

Sure. He's a cool guy and he definitely is a poster child assassin.

Surprise: Tira getting past 2 saves and almost making top 10. Thought once we needed more than Gen + me she'd be out in short order.
Disappointment: All of the characters I was regularly saving making the top 1/3, none making the top 10.

3) Are you happy with the rules and do you think no trading gives way to a more true winner, or would you prefer to have trading in this contest if it were up to you?

If you encourage trading (by not banning it) I riot. Or just stop paying attention, I suppose. Probably the latter actually.
