That's kind of the point. They have 2-3 female only groups, but rather than have that and do something with them - they specifically went after Custodes because in-lore they can't be women. So what appears to be GW trying to appease Amazon / get ESG money they're making women Custodes for the amazon show, even though it's been specifically men only since it's existed. Then trying to double back and saying they've always existed, etc, when they never did. But 40k lore is notorious for specifying you cant believe anything anyone says.
